Trained completely in German, by me.
I trained Gunny myself, from puppy to partner, using German commands only. Some of that is tradition with the breed. Mostly it's because a clear, consistent language makes for a clear, confident dog.
He goes pretty much everywhere I go: the office, the lake, the truck, the lodge parking lot. If you've met me in person, odds are you've met Gunny too.
Training a dog teaches you the same things leadership does: be consistent, be clear, reward what you want to see, and never ask for something you haven't taught.
