Ken Knorr
About

A builder, in every sense of the word.

I build companies, furniture, teams, telescope rigs, and well-trained dogs. Mostly, I try to build a life I'll be proud of, following the Rule of Sevens.

Freemasonry

Past Master.

I'm proud to have served as Worshipful Master of my lodge. Freemasonry has given me brotherhood, a framework for self-improvement, and a lifelong reminder that leadership is service.

Many of the values I lead with in business, like integrity, charity, and building something that outlasts you, I learned in lodge.

On the water

Avid fisherman.

Central Florida has some of the best freshwater fishing anywhere, and I take full advantage of it. Some of my best thinking happens at sunrise with a rod in my hand and nobody asking me anything.

In the shop

Woodworker.

I build furniture: console and hall tables, a live-edge river table, and smaller pieces turned on the lathe. There's something honest about woodworking. You measure, you cut, and the piece tells you right away whether you did it right.

It's the same discipline I try to bring to building companies, and shop days are always better with company.

A legacy of coaching

I coached my kids. Now they coach theirs.

I've spent more than 400 games on the sidelines, coaching both my son, Mike, and my daughter, L'ren, through flag football and soccer. Wins are fun, but what matters is teaching young people to compete hard, support their teammates, and handle both winning and losing with character.

The best part is that it stuck. My son and daughter are both coaches now. One of my favorite photos is L'ren on the field coaching her own kids, Leo and Lily.

How I lead

Principles I keep coming back to.

01

The Rule of Sevens

Seven years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes. Priorities get clear fast when you picture the clock running out.

02

1 + 1 = 3

You can't be your best flying solo. The right team creates more than the sum of its parts.

03

Consensus through debate

I'd rather be argued with than agreed with. You'll usually find me in the break room, not my office.
